3ABN Camp Meeting

We are so excited!  We have been wanting to go down to 3ABN for a long time and especially for Camp Meeting.  So this year we have had a nice dryer spring and all the crops are in and sprayed and all the work is caught up, for now......So we get to go!  We have been looking forward to this for close to a month now, and tomorrow we take off for Thompsonville IL,!  3ABN will be broadcasting meetings live on TV and their website  so you should watch them!  We'll share pictures with you when we get back.

Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

The field garden

This is our field garden. We have planted potatoes, squash, and other plants. This is in the field just East of the yard. They all look really nice!  We are trying to make sure the deer don't eat it.  So we are thinking of all these creative ways to keep them away.  If they all produce nicely all of you can come and get cucumbers, and tons of squashed!

Planting the garden

This last Thurday the 17th we planted about 3/4 of the garden. Mom love's her garden so much and works so much on it! She planted a ton of plants in March ( I had pictures on of the plants before ). She planted some 90 tomato plants and lots of pepper and cabage, so they were really big already.

In the evening we had a bunch of wood we needed burned so we had a huge fire and had supper out at the campfire.

Genesis 1:29

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

Roping calves

Today we went out and treated some calves for different reasons.  We had lots of fun!  We roped them and then threw them so we could treat them.  These are quite a few of the pictures Tabby took.

 This is a picture story.

How many Schumachers does it take to get one calf!?!?!?
Some of these calves were so big and strong already!  They put up quite a fight.
Let's just say the calves had a pretty good weight diffrence on Paul.

Ya!  Sometimes some of us got taken out!

Grandpa and Tabby drove the Ford and were our pharmacists.

Horses and planting sweet corn

Today we planted our sweet corn patch!  I'm really excited about it.  Every year we do something special with the money we get from doing a few farmer's markets.  This year we are doing it for FRB ( Food Resource Bank ). Now the fun part is going to be keeping it weeded!

On the way home from the field Tabby and I stopped by the pasture and took some pictures of our yearlings and Frisco.
