A day at the lake

Yesterday our good friend Pat and Sharon Wolf called and asked if we wanted to go to the lake for a few hours in the afternoon.  It was hot and we never had much going on so we headed over to lake Hoskins.  The last time we have gone to the lake and tried wake boarding was about 4 years ago so we were out of practise.  We had sooooo much fun though.  Paul did really good!  He got up on his 2nd try.  We felt bad for Janae because she never got to try with her broke collarbone. :(  We all got a try and then we went tubing.  It was all so much fun!  The water was a little green because of all the warm water.  But if you never thought about it and didn't drink any you were alright.

On the way home from the lake we were noticing that it might be building up to the West.  We were so blessed to get about 60 hundreds of rain.  The crops were just about on their last leg.  Now they are perking up and look so much better already!  GOD IS SOOOO GOOD!!!!

fun in the sun!!!

Well with the weather being teribly hot out this last week we just decided that it was time to go swimming!:) The swimming hole that we usually go to was dryed up with our lack of rain latly so we had to head to our not so clean lake.  None the less we still had a good time and it really didn't matter if it was clean or not is was wet and cold!

Crop and Garden update

This is a Garden and Crop update!  Everything is really getting dry.  I heard on the radio today that it isn't suppose to get any better till October.  It is suppose to be in the 90s all this week.  But there is suppose to be chances of rain.  The wheat is ready to combine and we will start next week!  The other crops are holding up pretty good for how dry we are.  The corn is starting to show heat stress though.  We would really appreciate all your prays for rain!

The 2nd cut of alfalfa wasn't very nice but we cut down 2 fields in the last 2 days.

This is our field garden.  We have lots of squash, potatos, and a few other things out there like tomatos, cabage, cucumbers, onions, and 4 pumkins.

Mom's garden is doing really good!  Mom waters it out of the dugout about every 3 days.  We ate our first cucumber salad today!
