Calves

Yesterday when Dad and I went out to check calves I took my camera along.  These are some of the pictures I took of all the little calves.  We have been blessed with an amazing calving season.  So far out of around 175 cows we've only lost one, and we have had 3 sets of twins.  So as of now we do have 2 bottle calves.  All the calves are healthy and running around.  God is so good!

bunk house party

This Sunday evening we had a laddie's party in the bunk house.  It was garden themed.  We had 19 church ladies down for supper and some fun activity's.  One of the most fun parts was decorating and getting everything ready for the party!

We ate sub sandwiches for supper.
We had the party for 3 reasons.  One was Lillian and Alethea are both moving away so it was a farewell party.  Then the other 2 reasons was to reveal church secret sisters and pick new ones.
Mom had all kinds of fun little quotes and facts to read.  She gave all the ladies a companion sheet for the garden and then gave them gardening tips to write on the backs.

Our church ladies always have so much fun!  They giggle all the time.  It is so much fun to be together and have fun with such good friends.

 Revealing secret sisters!

Our Sabbath

Yesterday at potluck we realised that Paul, Jody, and I all had bright blues on, so we took a picture.

After dinner we had whoever wanted to stay and we marked Bibles.  We had a great time together!

Common posts

Ok. I'm sorry all our blogs are about the same, (pictures of cows, calves, lambs, chickens, and horses) but we are calving for the last month and so we haven't  had a lot going on.  So here is another common post.  Sorry!

It has cooled off some this last week.  It gets below freezing again at night and it doesn't warm up much during the day.

Our chickens are a little unhappy with us right now.....They have been invaded by 5 bottle lambs and 1 bottle calf.  They don't like being disturbed from their sleep when we feed the lambs.
This is an update on Mom's plants..........You know how I had that post on when she planted them.  Well they are growing nicely.

This picture is random, but I just thought it was funny.  Today when I was washing a load of jeans I realized.  That when I had put all the jeans into the washer all I had left was these items laying there.   :)

homemade laundry detergent

My aunt Vicki had brought us some homemade laundry soap a while back with directions how to make more, so today I decided to make a batch!  This stuff cleans really well and it smells soooooooo good. :)

Here is how you can make your own.

           All you need is:

           1 -  Fels-Naptha soap bar

1 cup - arm & Hammer super washing soda

           1/2 Cup -  Borax

This is all you need to make a batch of laundry soap.
First you need to grate your fels-naptha soap bar

Add your 1 cup of Arm & hammer super washing soda
mix in your Borax
This is the finished product!  for one load of wash you use
1 1/2 Tbs. of your detergent and if it is a big load or a lot of dirty jeans you can use 2 Tbs.
These are some big clouds that rolled in this evening and brought some more rain.
